Short Story Writing: Creating Your First Collection

Short Story Writing: Creating Your First Collection

This is a focused course that helps writers learn the art of the short story and how to create a cohesive collection. This programme combines taught and practical exercises to help students challenge themselves to experiment with storytelling and hone new skills. In addition to a session on mastering plot, you will be tutored in the more playful, experiential short story forms available to you. There will also be a workshop on developing a link or thread between your stories and presenting them as an interconnected work. You also are given tuition on self-editing and work planning to empower you to finish your project after the course is complete.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
