The Tango Dance Company is one of City Academy’s premier resident dance companies. With weekly rehearsals on Monday evening and regular in-studio performances throughout the year, The Tango Dance Company aims to be one of the most exciting tango performance groups in London.
Rehearsals
In weekly rehearsals, you will develop in the following areas:
- Develop and refine tango technique
- Learn advanced Tango moves and embellishments for leaders and followers
- Learn more articulated figures with and without a partner
- Improve musicality, timing and styling
- Learn challenging and innovative choreography
- Build confidence and learn dynamics of performing

Company Director
The Company is led by Winston Veerender, an experienced dancer, performer and choreographer. His passion and creativity are demonstrated through his innovative tango choreography that draws upon his broad range of dance expertise.
Who Can Join?
The Tango Dance Company is for those who have completed Improvers level tango at City Academy, the equivalent or who have experience in tango performance. To be accepted into The Tango Dance Company it is necessary to attend a taster class.

Membership & Benefits
Membership
Monthly membership fee is £80 per month and is charged for 12 months of the year. There is a minimum membership period of 3 months. This will cover you for all classes for the duration of your membership. (Note: Additional cost for costumes will be decided amongst the company each year and will be kept at a minimum.)
If you wish to cancel your membership, please email info@city-academy.com with 14 days notice to your next payment date.

We offer two payment options for the Dance Company:
Monthly Membership - £80 per month:
1. There is a minimum membership of three months.
2. Your monthly subscription payment will be automatically debited from your credit/debit card on the same date as your original booking each month.
3. If you wish to cancel your membership after three months, please send a written confirmation of your cancellation to info@city-academy.com, a minimum of 14 days before your next payment date.
Annual membership - £864 for 12 months: This option saves you 10% and is non refundable.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
