Catherine Eaglestone is an actor and applied theatre facilitator working within community, education and mental health. She studied Acting with the Actors Institute, London; trained in Improvisation with Improbable, and Forum Theatre with Cardboard Citizens. Her own practice is inspired by the positive impact of creative group activities on wellbeing.
Catherine is passionate about making these experiences accessible to all. Throughout her career she has worked to share the cross-over skills from acting that can be used in everyday life and strives to make theatre open to everyone. Catherine is currently Co-Facilitator of The Elders Improvisation Company, Southwark Playhouse and creator of Radio Gregson Community Podcast, Lancaster.
Previous work includes Improvisation, the Gregson Centre, Lancaster; the Mindful Drama project, Lancaster, offering accessible Drama Workshops for socially anxious adults; Act yourself Confident community Drama Workshops; the Moving Forward Project with Status Employment Charity combining Drama and Trapeze to improve confidence and wellbeing for mental health service users. For children and young people Catherine created Redeagle Theatre Company and Crystal Palace Young Filmmakers; she has also directed a variety of Community Theatre Productions for all ages.
