Drew McCreadie

Drew has been performing and teaching improv comedy professionally for over 25 years. Originally from Canada, where he earned a B.A. in Theatre, he played with improv companies TheatreSports, Rock Paper Scissors, Urban Improv, and Canadian Content.

Drew joined The Second City, performing on cruise ships in the Caribbean before moving to Thailand to open a comedy club. After relocating to London, he has performed with London Improv at The Museum of Comedy, and at Hoopla, where he is a guest instructor.

Drew is the author of two books on Improv Comedy (“You Will Never Be Funny: An Introduction to Improv Comedy” and “Mastering Improv: A Deconstruction Manual”).

Drew is also a playwright. His play “The Cat Who Are Her Husband” won 5 Jessie Richardson Awards (a Canadian equivalent to an Olivier Award), and his Christmas farce Hotel Bethlehem ran for several seasons in Vancouver, Canada.

Drew has also written and directed the VIF Festival award-winning film “The Valet”.

Drew’s workshops are always fun, but he takes the business of comedy very seriously. You will learn how to access your natural comedic abilities and play at the top of your game. Drew’s teaching comes from years of actual stage experience, having performed hundreds and hundreds of shows over the course of several decades. Drew has performed on stage with some of the best improvisers in the business, including Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Hannah Warman, Ian Boothby and Roman Danylo.

“My focus is finding the funny fast! I believe that the comedy is already there in any scene, ready to be discovered, and that the improviser’s job is to identify the inherent comedy that lies in wait.”
