Elanor Milne

Elanor Milne

Elanor has been working as a professional songwriter, recording artist, and session musician since the age of 21, when she signed to Reservoir Publishing/Blue Raincoat Music (home to artists including Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, and Emeli Sandé). She has performed her music on major festival stages, including Green Man Festival and Pitchfork London, and has collaborated with and supported artists such as Simon Armitage (UK Poet Laureate), CMAT, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Christian Lee Hutson, and Cassandra Jenkins.

As a session musician, Elanor has contributed vocals and guitar to artists including Daughter, Dodie, and Flyte. In the studio, she has worked with Grammy-winning and genre-defining producers and engineers, including Dom Monks (Laura Marling, Adrianne Lenker), Ethan Johns (The Beatles, Kings of Leon), Jonathan Lowe (Taylor Swift, The National), and Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Duffy). Her own releases with Chrysalis Records have been praised across national press and radio.

Although her formal education is in English Literature, Elanor’s love of words naturally merged with music, leading her into songwriting in her late teens. This unique background shapes her approach to teaching: she believes songwriting is not an innate gift but a skill anyone can learn. Her goal is to give students the tools to connect with their authentic voice, while placing compassion and encouragement at the centre of her teaching.

Elanor’s classes emphasise curiosity, play, and craft. She believes every student has something unique to offer in songwriting and is passionate about helping them nurture and develop that creativity.
