Nuria Garcia is Artistic Director and Head Teacher at La Escuela de Baile, the largest Flamenco school in the UK. She also guest teaches at prestigious schools across the globe and has danced in top flamenco companies.
As a child, Nuria attended dance school, training in Spain under some of the most revered teachers including award winning dancers Antonio Canales, Marco Flores, Manuel Liñán and Eva Yerbabuena. Following this Nuria went on to dance for many top flamenco companies including Paco Peña’s, Fiesta Flamenca, and Von Magnet who she performed with for five years leading to several television appearances.
As Head Choreographer for global advertising campaigns (Sony and Nissan), international music videos (Siouxsie and the Banshees and Robert Palmer), as well as renowned theatre and opera productions (Carmen and Opera 80), Nuria is an excellent choreographer across a range of mediums. She has also choreographed for television including the hit show ‘About Face’, and children’s television series ‘Music Makers’.
As a flamenco teacher, her Beginners course is a “great introduction to flamenco and rhythm”, encouraging participants to connect with their “inner self through this passionate and rhythmical dance”. For those with some experience of Flamenco dance, she offers an Improvers course which will also be open to those who have completed the Beginners course.
