Subjects taught by Pagan:
Contemporary Dance Classes
Pagan trained in dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, specializing in dance performance.
Over the course of her career, Pagan Dorgan has been a dance educator for the likes of The New Zealand School of Dance, The Royal New Zealand Ballet and Chilton Dance Centre in Liverpool. She has experience teaching students from all kinds of backgrounds and has facilitated workshops in schools and prisons, and worked alongside theatres to provide events for local communities. As well as teaching, Pagan has directed and choreographed musical theatre productions, hip hop, and contemporary dance classes and has taught GCSE and A level dance for over seven years.
In contemporary dance instructor Pagan’s classes, the focus is on developing and understanding good alignment and technique to keep the body healthy and safe. Her warm-up consists of some standing exercises and a small amount of floor work. She leads progressions across the floor to learn and practice basic steps and movements followed by learning phrases and building up to longer pieces of choreography. Pagan uses a variety of music from instrumental tracks to pop and folk.
“I enjoy sharing my knowledge, experience and love for dance and moving with others, and how it can impact other areas in life. I like the exchange between students and myself during classes and I really love seeing the development and progress of class members.”
