Shaun Mendum

Shaun has always been passionate about the art of storytelling, and his diverse career reflects that: from beginning as a professional ballet dancer, to Musical Theatre, film, and TV, he has always loved the versatility of the industries that he works in. It is through that versatility that he found his footing as a voice actor. Working as an actor and voice artist, he has featured as leading and supporting roles in major projects, including as Scratch in BAFTA-winning video game Baldur’s Gate 3, Caelus (male protagonist) in Honkai Star Rail, antagonist Calyx in Final Fantasy XIV, as well as smash hit games franchises including Final Fantasy Tactics, Starship Troopers, and Warhammer. Other work includes Joffrey O’Brien in Netflix’s anime Love Through a Prism, and clients including audible, Vitality Health, the NHS, and Emirates. As a teacher, Shaun loves helping people embrace and champion their uniqueness. “Everybody should have a slice of the pie,” he says. “What makes you you is what makes you an artist.” He has been invited to speak on panels around the world, including at MCM Comic Con, Katsucon in Washington DC, AniMuc in Munich, and teaches regularly both group sessions and 1-2-1.

I am a hands-on teacher, who’s approach is simple: Learn the thing by doing the thing. I bring a kinaesthetic approach, adapting to the needs of the room, with practical guidance and exercises all the way. I am anti-gatekeeping, and will always offer open, honest, industry-focussed feedback, reinforcement, and support.
