Tara Minton


Tara Minton

Tara Minton is an Australian born harpist, vocalist, pianist and composer. She holds a masters degree in jazz performance from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, as well as a bachelors degree in Musical Theatre from The University of Ballarat, and an AMEB Associate in Music diploma for classical piano. 

Tara is well established as both an improvising harpist and vocalist and has worked with Björk, Tom Walker, Miranda Mulholland, SuRie, “Kitty, Daisy and Lewis”, Paul Lee, Stan Sulzman, Tommaso Starace, Toni Kofi, Chris Strandring and Geoff Gascoyne. She leads her own original project as a harpist/vocalist and sings with “The Blues and Roots Ensemble”, a London based nine-piece band celebrating the music of Charles Mingus. As a session vocalist Tara has worked on multiple movie and television soundtracks, as well as the “World of Avatar” ride soundtrack for Disney World Resort, Florida. 

Tara is a passionate music educator and enjoys giving masterclasses in jazz, improvisation and performance craft at some of the UK’s top music colleges and schools alongside her own private teaching. 

Tara is also Director of SpiceJazz Soho and runs The Jazz Podcast.
