Toby Wharton


Toby Wharton

Toby is an actor and filmmaker from South London, who graduated from RADA in 2007.

He has performed extensively in theatre, in productions such as ‘Home’, ‘My Brilliant Friend’ and ‘Medea’, all at the National Theatre. He co-wrote and played the title role in the critically acclaimed play, ‘FOG’, which toured the UK and ran at The Park Theatre. His screen credits include ‘Marcella’ for ITV, ‘The Aliens’ for Channel 4, ‘Call the Midwife’, ‘Rillington Place’ and ‘Silent Witness’ all for BBC. He recently wrote and directed the short film ‘Held’, funded by BFI Network and exec produced by Joy Gharoro‐Akpojotor. Before going to RADA, Toby was an MC on the UK Garage music scene.

“I am interested in helping actors find truthful connections with the material and am very much influenced by the Meisner approach of learning to behave truthfully within the imaginary circumstances.”
