Born in England, Viva Foster grew up on the South Island of New Zealand. She was a Junior Associate of the New Zealand School of Dance before moving to Australia to train at the National Theatre Ballet School. During her three years there Viva undertook secondments with Chunky Move and Australian Dance Theatre, and was a founding member of Melbourne’s first contemporary youth dance company, Yellow Wheel, directed by Adam Wheeler.
Returning to the UK, Viva completed a One Year Programme at Trinity Laban, and was the recipient of a Trinity Laban Dance Award 2016. As a contemporary dance teacher, Viva is interested in the many different ways contemporary dance enables her to inhabit her body, and to communicate with an audience.
