Ever stare at the news and think ‘this is ridiculous’? Do you watch your favourite comedians talk about the state of the country and think...I'd like to do this!
In this one day intensive we’ll look at how to break down news stories and turn them into hilarious jokes and comedy routines. Using techniques from professional TV and radio shows we’ll show how to dig the funny out of even the most boring political manoeuvre. And we’ll learn how to do it fast enough to get there before the rest of the internet! As we begin to assemble jokes and themes we’ll look at how we can use comedy as a force for good. Highlighting hypocrisy and challenging out-dated attitudes. We’ll learn techniques including distant analogies and logical extensions which work great at revealing the flaws in political strategies and popular attitudes. And, of course, we’ll have a great laugh doing it all day.
No experience is needed, just bring yourself and a couple recent newspapers and watch the comdey flow.

- Write fast and amaze audiences with jokes on the latest issues.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
