Our Intensive Flamenco Technique - 5 Days is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Flamenco as learn this fast-paced, passionate style of dance or take your Flamenco to the next level. This course is ideal for complete beginners who will be led every step of the way as well as improver/advanced levels. Flamenco is a fun, challenging dance that helps you express yourself and maintain an overall level of fitness. The course will be led by two tutors with Mel Day taking the beginner students and Nuria Garcia taking the improver and advanced level students. On this course you will master new choreography and hone your technique in a supportive environment.

This course is delivered in partnership with the brilliant La Escuela De Baile. 

What you'll learn

Intensive Flamenco Technique - 5 Days is perfect for dancer of all levels

Beginner and Improver level students will:

  • Learn the correct posture and balance that is fundamental to Flamenco
  • Basic footwork, arm positions and hand movements.
  • Discover Flamenco rhythms via practical exercises, including ‘palmas’ (hand clapping).
  • Showcase your new skills in an inclusive virtual setting. 

Intermediate and Advanced level students will:

  • Improve style, rhythm and all aspects of flamenco dance
  • Fine-tune footwork, arms, body work and turns
  • Explore different rhythms to broaden technique  
  • Add flourishes to take your Flamenco to the next level

Comfortable clothes so you can move freely, Sturdy shoes with a small heel (no stilettos please)

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
