Lisa Fitzgerald is an American ballet dancer and teacher based in London. She is the Co-founder of Ext12 Dance Company, a company dedicated to telling veterans stories through dance and using movement as a way to connect and heal. She holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts, from Saint Mary’s College of California, and a teaching certificate from the Bolshoi Ballet Teacher Certification Programme.
Lisa graduated from the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts and began her professional career with Connecticut Ballet, later dancing for Ballet Ambassadors, Ballet Theatre Company, Sarah Berges Dance and various choreographers in NYC and London. Her roles include, The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Kitri in Don Quixote and Gamzatti in La Bayadere.
Her work with Exit12 has received coverage from the Washington Post, NBC, FoxNews, and she was part of the Award-winning film, Exit12 Moved By War, appearing in the documentary and providing additional choreography. With Exit12 she has performed at West Point Military Academy, The Intrepid Air Sea and Space Museum, Lincoln Center, TEDxTU Berlin, King’s College London, and The Maltings Theater.
Along with teaching, she has choreographed and staged both original and classical ballets for children’s programs and pre-professional schools.
