Kate Smurthwaite

Kate Smurthwaite has been a professional comedian for over a decade and in that time has taken 10 one-woman solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and around the country on tour. In 2013 she won a Three Weeks Editor's Choice Award naming her personally as one of the ten best things about the Edinburgh Festival!


Kate is also a writer for BBC3's BAFTA-winning The Revolution Will Be Televised and for Britain’s most popular political comedy show Have I Got News For You. She has appeared herself on over 800 TV and radio discussion and debate shows including Question Time, This Morning, The Big Questions, Moral Maze and Woman's Hour and has written columns, humourous and serious, for Cosmopolitan, The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph and New Internationalist.
