If you've always wanted to try ballet but haven't been sure where to start, this course gives you a friendly and supportive place to begin. Our expert tutors will take you through the very basics of ballet technique in this introductory 4 week course, including posture, fundamental foot and arm positions, and exercises to begin building your strength and flexibility. No previous experience is needed. Just bring yourself and a willingness to try something new. Posture and Alignment Develop better posture, balance and body awareness through gentle ballet exercises. Barre Basics Begin working at the barre, learning simple positions and movements that support coordination and control. Centre Practice Build confidence moving away from the barre with accessible centre exercises and simple combinations. Musicality and Movement Explore how ballet connects with music, helping you move with more rhythm, flow and confidence. Supportive Progression Learn at a gentle pace with friendly tutor guidance, giving you a strong foundation for continuing into Ballet Beginners. 1 Do I need to bring anything to the class? Please bring a water bottle, and you may wish to bring a small towel as well. 2 What should I wear? Do I need ballet shoes? Please wear clothes that are comfortable to move in and not too baggy, as it's important for your tutor to be able to see your alignment and posture. You may wear flat ballet shoes if you'd like to, but for beginners ballet it's absolutely fine to wear socks instead. Want to learn more? Every dancer starts with the basics.
