Time to unleash your inner Drag Queen, King or Monarch! Our Online Drag Course is for anyone with some experience in performance looking to explore the colourful world of Drag.
Led by London Drag Queen Camille Toe, you’ll have a blast breathing life into your very own Drag Persona. Each week you’ll build on your persona learning make-up techniques, stand-up comedy and improvisation, lip-sync, movement and of course fabulous costuming that will turn heads. Camille will be imparting her expertise in performance skills, acting, comedy, singing and more. The course will be taught live, online in an inclusive and encouraging environment.
By the end of the unique and inspiring online acting class, you will have the chance to create and film a solo act from home which will debut in our LIGHTS, GLAMOUR, ACTION! digital showcase.
In this Online Drag Course you will:
- Explore the history and legacy of drag performance to find inspiration and uniqueness
- Enjoy learning performance skills taught in a small group setting a professional drag artist.
- Learn make-up techniques, wig-styling and drag costume styling skills to create your persona.
- Discover devising skills, improvisation tools and comic techniques to build your routine.
- Debut your solo drag act in our very own digital showcase for emerging drag performers.
You will need
- A device with Camera and Microphone
- A basic make-up kit
- A wig, costume and accessories of your choice
- 1-2 metres squared to move in
- A notepad and pen to make notes
A note on participation:
Your expert tutor will provide a list of make-up supplies you’ll need to get the most from this course.
Enhancing these skills requires practical and active participation. As this is an interactive, group class all students will be required to have their videos turned on.
