Tango Classes - Intermediate
Tango is a sophisticated and elegant dance that comes alive as you and your dance partner move together, creating a beautiful connection with each other and the music. It is fiery, passionate and dramatic - yet the relationship between the partners is one of softness and care.
Dancing appropriately to the emotion and dynamics of Tango is extremely important to mastering the form. A good dancer is one who transmits the musicality and rhythm from the music in their dance.
At City Academy we focus on Argentine Tango. Once you have got a solid understanding of the concepts in the Beginners and Improvers courses, you can further your Tango journey and develop your skills by joining the Intermediate course.
Intermediate Tango Course Content
Our Tango Intermediate Course is perfect for those who have been dancing Tango at least for a year:
- Improve posture, specifically the 'Close Embrace', to be able to create more dynamic movements while maintaining a soft connection with your dance partner.
- Refine the correct technique of leading confidently, for more fluidity and dynamism as you dance.
- Learn more on how to follow a partner's lead, as well as embellish and adorn your dance as you do.
- Study more in depth musicality and sequences for Milonga and Tango Vals.
- Find out how to articulate more advanced Argentine Tango figures such as Enrosques, Back Sacadas, Voleos and Ganchos.
You'll receive friendly feedback throughout, and you don’t need to bring a partner to join the course.

City Academy tutors are experienced artists and performers that work in the industry. If your tutor's availability changes at short notice, our team will arrange for a suitable replacement and notify you in advance.
CANCELLATIONS POLICY
We offer a full refund or full credit of your original course if you cancel at least 72 hours before the start of your booking.
We cannot offer any refund if you cancel less than 72 hours before the start of your booking, or if you do not attend.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
No Tutor
20 NOV, THE OLD FINSBURY TOWN HALL
We are delighted to host the City Academy Winter Tango Ball, This will be a celebration of Tango in London and the wonderful student and social dancing community. We invite you to dress up, come and join us for non stop dancing till midnight with a few guest performances by our amazing students' Tango company Tango Del Corazon and professional teachers.
