Doug is a film and TV director with more than a dozen award-winning film credits to his name such as Now Retired (writer and director). The Double Deal (recent winner of the best short film at the San Diego black film festival) and The Crime (writer and director).
As a visiting director and screen acting tutor at a number of prestigious institutes both in the UK and internationally, Doug brings his passion, energy and industry experience from both sides of the lens, when training emerging actors.
Professional training began with a 3 year acting course at The Welsh College of Music and Drama, winning the acting award in the first year and again in year three for his performance as Proctor in The Crucible. His first professional engagement came in 1988, in rep at the Liverpool Playhouse.
Having had a successful twenty-three year career as an actor, Doug has appeared in innumerable commercials and TV productions such as The Bill, Holby City, Casualty, Eastenders and Torchwood. Doug prides himself in facilitating classes that are both informative and inspiring.
