Michael Freeman

Canadian musical theatre performer Michael Thomas Freeman began his career at the age of 7 in his hometown of Toronto, where he performed in a production of Oliver and he soon began singing professionally in Canada with artists such as the world renowned accapella group, the Nylons.

After touring through Europe, Michael relocated to the UK where in 2013 he performed for the Royal Family at the Palace of Westminster. He has recorded with some of the biggest names in Pop and Musical Theatre including West End superstar, Kerry Ellis as well as breakout star from the Voice UK, Christina Marie.

Apart from performing, Michael holds a Masters Degree in vocal pedagogy and has taught singing at all the top musical theatre schools in the UK including Mountview, Guildford School of Acting, Urdang and Bird College. In 2018 he opened The Singers Space, which revolves around the simple principle of “Rediscovering the Art of Singing”.

“I believe very strongly that teaching cannot be taught by a textbook alone. We need to know how to implement techniques that are effective in real world, high pressure situations.”
