Joel Gatehouse

Joel is an actor, trainer and theatre-maker specialising in physical theatre practices.

Carving out a career as an actor and theatre-maker, Joel has worked around the world and collaborated with some incredible artists (Idle Motion, Babel Theatre , ZU-UK, Rhum and Clay and many more) making theatre, providing theatre training and offering consultancy to theatre companies.

He specialises in devised and physical theatre and has taught improvisation, movement, clowning, devising techniques and circus skills to actors and young theatre makers in schools and some of the leading acting conservatories in the UK including Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Identity School of Acting, PPA, Rose Buford and Oxford University.

James enjoys the privilege of enabling actors and artists to develop their practice and discover new possibilities through teaching. He aims for his classes to be engaging, accessible and unapologetically approachable.
