The Urban Dance Company is one of City Academy’s premier resident dance companies. With weekly evening rehearsals and regular performances throughout the year, the Urban Dance Company aims to be one of the most exciting urban performance groups in London.
The company is led by experienced performer and choreographer Ann-Marie Lennon. Ann-Marie's performance credits include West-End shows as well as touring extensively both nationally and internationally.
The Urban Dance Company is for those who have completed Improvers Level street dance classes at City Academy, the equivalent, or who have experience in urban performance. To be accepted into the company we ask you to take an introductory class first.
Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Colombo Centre in Southwark. In weekly rehearsals, you will develop in the following areas:
The Urban Dance Company perform twice a year at the City Academy Winter and Spring Dance showcases.
The membership fee is £80 per month and is charged for 12 months of the year. There is a minimum membership period of 3 months. This will cover you for all rehearsals and shows for the duration of your membership. (Note: Additional cost for costumes will be decided amongst the company each year and will be kept at a minimum.)

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
