Argentine Tango lessons

Lauren and Lucas Gou are professional Argentine Tango dancers with vast experience in both performing and teaching.

Lauren studied at the Liverpool Theatre School from 2005 – 2008 and then went on to gain a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.

Lauren has previously been a freelance dancer for various corporate events including; City of London Festival of Culture 2018, Novikov Restaurant as well as the V Festival Tangomagico Alicante in Spain. She is an experienced dance teacher and instructor having spent the last 10 years teaching at a number of dance schools and choreographing a number of shows.

Some of Lauren’s many performance credits include Sophisticats, Dracula, Tagura and Romeo & Juliet. She describes her teaching approach as friendly, clear and comprehensible due to over 30-years in combined professional dance. She wishes to share her passion for Argentine Tango with her students by giving them an insight into her knowledge and experiences. She wants her classes to promote growth and development in a supportive and fun environment.

“I love the artistic expression and creativity that teaching demands and being able to share my love for tango and seeing the joy that it can bring to others is very rewarding. Seeing students accomplish something new especially after several months when you look back and realise how far they have come is a fantastic feeling.

Lucas studied at the Mora Godoy Tango Estudio (Buenos Aires) from 1999 to 2002, and has trained with the Maestros of Tango; Mora Godoy, Horacio Godoy, Leandro Oliver and many more. As a dance teacher, Lucas still regularly takes classes and believes that is it important to always be eager to learn.

Lucas is an experienced Tango teacher with 10 years experience at a variety of dance schools. He has also hosted workshops and taught choreography routines for a number of years, most recently choreographing and directing The ‘Deseos de Tango’ show.He has been a featured Argentine Tango dancer in a number of shows including Strictly Ballroom, Fantastic Decades, Licence to Kill and Around the world.

Lauren & Lucas met whilst performing in the production shows onboard MSC Armonia, MSC Cruise Line. It was there that Lauren first got a taste of tango whilst watching Lucas’ show and was captivated by the magic of it. With over 30 years of combined professional dance, Laura and Lucas describe their teaching style as authentic, friendly, clear and comprehensible.

As highly experienced argentine tango tutors, they aim to provide a fun and supportive environment for learning, with each lesson thoughtfully prepared to help guide each student through their Tango journey.
